Categories allow you to group extensions by up to 9 categories.  This allows customers with a large number of extensions to have the phone menu first read the categories for the caller to choose from, then reading the extension name and number in the selected category.

Extensions can be in multiple categories, so an extension "North Tampa Pool" could be in a category "North Tampa Facilities" and in a category "Pools".

Categories can also be used to more easily group extensions when you wish to share a link to a page showing only those extensions, or when embedding a list of only those extensions on your web site.
