NOTICE: Our friends in Public Works continue to work hard. Primarily involving excavation and underground work, this summer’s rain events have caused schedule delays on the Duck Creek Sewer Interceptor project adjacent to and along the Duck Creek Recreational Trail. Weather permitting, the section of the trail between Hickory Grove Road and Fairmount is expected to reopen in the first week of September. The section west of Fairmount is estimated to reopen by the first week of October. While construction and weather can be inconvenient, we encourage our trail users to hang in there. Once complete, this 5-mile, $16.25 M, ARPA-funded project will have a lasting impact on the future of our community.

CONSTRUCTION NOTICE: Our friends at Davenport Public Works are working hard toward flood resiliency in Davenport! Part of this effort means closing a sections of the Riverfront Recreation Trail. This closure affects cyclists and pedestrians.
At this time, we cannot estimate when the riverfront bike path section will fully re-open due to railroad coordination. We will keep the community posted as more information becomes available. Current estimate is for a temporary rock path to be installed by early April. Installation of permanent paving and related work in the rail right-of-way is pending ongoing rail approval and permitting.
