Extension list for City of Roanoke Parks and Recreation

CAUTION: Start: 3/15/26, tentative End: 6/12/26 - Brushy Mountain Fire Road rehabilitation work between Happy Valley and ~.25m past Four Gorges. The fire road will remain open, but users need to exercise additional caution and be aware of work in the area.

OPEN 7 days a week. Wednesdays from 11 AM - 5 PM. Thursday through Tuesday from 10 AM - 5 PM.

Park is open daily from 6 AM to 11 PM. For emergencies, call 911.

CLOSURE: Start: 3/10/25, End: TBD - Riverland Road Parking lot (a.k.a. Star Trail parking lot) at the base of Mill Mountain will be closed for a construction project.

DETOUR UPDATE: beginning approx. 10/23/25 the existing detour (see below) will briefly follow along Wiley Drive before reconnecting with the greenway at the low-water bridge. DETOUR: Start: 4/1/2024, End: TBD - Greenway will detour around Wasena Park for duration of Wasena Bridge replacement. Detour will be fully marked with signage along Winchester Avenue, Main Street, Winona Avenue, and Wiley Drive.
